The Yoga of Listening Workshop
The Yoga of Listening Workshop
Communication & Listening: To Build Trust & Maintain Connection.
An interactive, playful workshop. We all struggle at times to express our feelings, feel heard, and maintain connections. Did you know that how you feel comes from your human needs being either met or not met? We may not even be sure WHAT our needs are due to juggling children, family, and work life obligations.
We all struggle at times to express our feelings, feel heard, and maintain connections. Did you know that how you feel comes from your human needs being either met or not met? We may not even be sure WHAT our needs are due to juggling children, family, and work life obligations.
Do you sometimes show up defensively, passively, or quick tempered when communicating and aren’t sure why? You may have unmet needs! Common examples of needs we all share: to feel supported, organization, cooperation, to be understood, and even for playfulness. Identifying your needs will guide you toward understanding your feelings and ultimately making requests in order to get those needs met.
How do you show up as a listener? Due to daily distractions, unmet needs, or personal blind spots we may not be listening in a way that facilitates connection, and/or peaceful resolutions (Hint: non-judgment).
In this workshop you will discover that your superpower of heart centered listening and compassionate communication can be effective, gentle and playful! And that your needs are just as important as others.
You will receive content based on my 25 years + communication practice, navigating parenting and partnering, the roots of yoga philosophy, the teachings of Non-Violent Communication, and listening on the street with Sidewalk Talk, a non-profit listening organization.
